Obama's Big Day

For many of us, Barack Obama's inauguration on January 20th, 2009 is the end of the election journey and the beginning of many other journeys; whether it be fixing our economy, the promise of a change in our foreign policy, or for me, a hope that the U.S. will begin to embrace Green tech and Sustainable organizations. And while many of us have already begun looking towards the future, we must not forget the historic event of this January 20th.
In fact, if not for the 20th Amendment of the Constitution, first put into effect with FDR's second election in 1937, we would have had to wait until March 4th in order to celebrate the President's entrance into the Oval office.  Fortunately for us, we only have to wait until January 20th to start the party and welcome our new President into office...and who said the government doesn't know how to have some fun?

So whatever Hope you place in President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden, be sure to recognize the importance of January 20th for what is and what it can. It's not only Obama's day of celebration but also ours, realizing that when we unite, accepting our differences, we can bring Hope for not only our sake but for all those that will come after us worldwide.

If you would like to commemorate January 20th with a personalized Obama shirt, please take a look at our limited time offer of Obama designs. Just go to www.SayItGreen.com and click on "Create It" in the top menu. Follow the prompts and you'll find that we added three Obama designs in the upper right hand corner to help get you started in creating your one-of-a-kind shirt, baby onesie, or tote bag.

What ever changes you wish to see first with Obama's election, I think we can all agree that January 20th marks the seed of Hope's first sprouting. It will be up to not just this new administration but also us to make sure we see this through so that Hope may flourish and branch out into all the areas of need.

Happy 2009 from Say it Green!
